What We Believe
We are Christian.
We are Reformed.
We are Presbyterian.
We believe the Bible is the very Word of God. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments “are given by inspiration of God to be the rule of faith and life” (Westminster Confession of Faith 1.2).
We affirm the classic doctrines of Christian orthodoxy as set forth in the ecumenical creeds, such as:
- The Apostles’ Creed
- The Nicene Creed
- The Athanasian Creed
We are confessional, subscribing to the Westminster Standards, affirming that they contain “the system of doctrine taught in the Holy Scriptures” (Book of Church Order (BCO), Preface):
- The Westminster Confession of Faith
- The Westminster Larger Catechism
- The Westminster Shorter Catechism
Believing “all things should be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40), we have “standards of government, discipline, and worship” (BCO, Preface) set forth in the Book of Church Order of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
All such standards are “subordinate to the Word of God” (BCO, Preface) which is infallible and inerrant.
